As someone who deals with local environmental impact assessments, this is infuriating. The amount of water data centers suck up alone is insane, let alone the power. And then they get to just... not report it?

Yep. Seen it happen. It's not usually outright 'secrecy' but buried under 'trade secrets' or 'competitive advantage' clauses. Same outcome, less accountability.

This is regulatory capture 101. Write the rules to benefit yourself, then claim you're adhering to the rules. The EU needs to push back harder, but money talks loudest.
