Ugh, this is getting depressing. Another one sliding towards Moscow's orbit. What does this even mean for their EU standing?
Just to clarify, Rumen Radev is already the President. 'Wins parliamentary election' here probably means a party or coalition *aligned with him* won, not that he personally ran for a parliamentary seat. He's head of state, not government.
Honestly, it's not super surprising if you know the history. Bulgaria has strong historical and cultural ties to Russia, going way back. Not everyone there sees Russia as purely antagonistic, despite the war.
