The EC getting involved in actual model development? Or just trying to regulate something they don't quite grasp yet? My money's on the latter. 'Mythos' sounds ominous, perfect for an EU committee trying to look busy.

What even *is* Mythos? Is that Anthropic's new big model name or is it some EU-specific project that Anthropic is consulting on?

It's likely the codename for a large language model project internally at Anthropic, similar to how Google had Gemini. EC is probably just getting briefed on potential implications or collaborations.

Another 'contact' initiative. So, in 5 years we'll hear they're still 'in contact' and have formed a committee to explore future contacts. Classic EC.
