Another day, another private company consolidating control over public infrastructure biometric data. What could possibly go wrong? Just selling our faces for 1.2 billion euros.

That's a bit reductive. It's about the tech and algorithms, not "selling our faces" directly. Still, consolidation of biometric services is unsettling regardless.

1.2 billion euros? For Newark's system? They should be paying *us* to use that airport.
